How to turn a men's tie into a boy's tie

Each Sunday for church my son used to wear a little clip-on tie, which meant it got dirty, fast!
I cleaned it a couple of times, but after a while it just got bad.
I looked around for little boys ties for a while, and I finally bought one online that had the elastic around the neck.
It ended up being a little short, but it was better than the dirty one.
Well, last week as my husband was getting ready for work, I saw him throw a tie into the garbage.
Shocked and horrified that all of that fabric was going to waste, I ran over and grabbed it out.
My husband has had this tie for a couple of years, and it has some stains on it. My husband told me it wasn't worth it to have it dry cleaned because it was a cheaper tie.
I decided right then and there to turn my husband's tie into a tie for our son.
I was so excited with my new challenge, and I think it turned out pretty well for my first attempt.
I was going to make a 'fake' tie, (you know, the ones with the elastic around the neck), but my husband said it would be better to make it into a 'real' tie, that was as our son grows, the tie is adjustable.
So, real tie it is.
Here's my little guy modeling the finished product for us.
I just want to let you all know that I tied that tie all by myself!
I was very proud.

That's right, we are out of the 1st trimester, and at the beginning of the 2nd!
Weight gain: 2 1/2 pounds
Sickness? Nope. I'm just tired, and I need a nap!
Stretch marks? Nope!
Maternity clothes? Not yet. :)
Discomfort? I have decided my belly has a mind of it's own. In the mornings when I wake up until about mid-afternoon my stomach doesn't stick out very far. Then in the evenings my stomach doubles in size! I'm not exaggerating either! It's weird. So, in the evenings my pants feel a little tighter (obviously), so I just change into something more comfy :)
Events: You read the chalkboard right, this past week I felt the little one fluttering around in there!! It's usually more in the evenings when I'm sitting on the couch relaxing.
Definitely one of my favorite parts of pregnancy!
I'm so excited for when the baby gets a little bit bigger, and then my son will be able to feel the baby kicking too :)

Hello everyone,
and Happy Valentine's Day tomorrow!!
Weight gain/loss? I'm still just up the 2 pounds
Morning sickness? Nope!
Discomfort? Yes! When I'm sitting and I lean forward my pants push too much into my belly now.
I feel like a have a really low belly.
Also, if I lay or lean on my right side kind of by my hip gets uncomfortable, almost like there is a bubble there...
Stretch marks? Nope!
Maternity clothes? Nope, not yet! I'm excited to be pregnant in the summertime though, I think I'm going to be wearing lots of comfy skirts...
Events/Updates: This is kind of random, but I've noticed in the last couple of weeks that I haven't been the biggest fan of buying/cooking chicken. I don't know if it's the smell of it when it's raw, but even now as I'm typing this, and thinking about it, I'm kind of getting the slightest bit nauseated.
I have of course made chicken, I just have to like prepare myself all day for it. Kind of weird, I know.
I've also been feeling extra lazy, especially in the evenings. I want to go to bed at like 9:30 every night, but we all know that never ends up happening, because I'd rather stay up with my husband to spend a little time with him.

Hi everyone!
I'm back with the pregnancy tracker :)
and I've got a bump!!!
So, I had an ultrasound appointment yesterday to check the growth of the baby.
(If you are new to the blog, a couple of weeks ago I went in for an appointment.
I should have been 9 weeks along, but the baby was only measuring at 7 weeks.
The doctor decided to have me come back for another ultrasound to double-check everything).
So, going off of the 'new' calculations, I should have been 11 weeks yesterday.
Well, the baby was measuring at 12 weeks.
The doctor said the baby was probably just curled up in a weird position last time.
Yeah, this little guy is already giving us a hard time!! :)
With the new measurements, my new due date is August 21, 2013.

Stats:
Weight gain: I've now gained 2 pounds total
Any sickness? Nope, I'm feeling great. I accredit to all the sunshine we've been getting!
I can't feel all yucky when I'm able to feel that warmth on my face and get some fresh air!!
Discomfort? I officially can't sleep flat on my stomach anymore :(
This is a hard thing for me.
That's how I get comfy.
(Back when I found out I was pregnant with my son, I started 'training' myself to sleep on my side just so I would be used to it later on in my pregnancy.
Well, when I found out I was pregnant this time, I started my 'sleep training' all over again, but I haven't been as consistent with it, so it's taken a bit longer for me to get used to it).
Maternity clothes: Nope! But I do have a couple pairs of  jeans that I sometimes need to unbutton while I'm sitting.
Stretch marks? Nope! I didn't get any with my previous pregnancy, but just as a precaution, I am putting lotion on my belly every day :)
Events: Well since we got to have our extra ultrasound yesterday,
I took my son with me to the appointment and we got to hear the heartbeat again.
We also got to see the baby moving around, a lot!
It was really cool, because you don't normally get an ultrasound until around 17 weeks or later, and the baby is bigger by then, so they are usually more curled up.
Since our little one is earlier on we got to see little legs stretch out, and arms move around, and little hands fold over the tummy.
It was beautiful.
